BLS Signs Logistics Contract With Lundin

Britannia Logistics has been contracted to provide logistics services for Lundin Tunisia – one of the Middle East’s foremost oil producers.

Services will include transportation, packaging, storage, delivery and collection of equipment, plants, spares and consumables.

Lundin’s previous approach involved dealing with freight forwarders on a job by job basis, which was increasingly fraught with difficulties as their activities expanded.

Lundin were looking for a logistics company who could alleviate the hassle and cost associated with dealing with a multitude of agents – a single point of contact with the ability to consolidate shipments.

Lundin were suitably impressed with our logistics capabilities in our previous guise as a procurement agent to sound out our credentials. We are delighted that, on closer inspection, we were deemed worthy of serving such a prestigious company.

With over 120 employees in offices spanning Europe and Africa, PA Resources are a major player in the oil & gas exploration/extraction sector. Their show of faith in our capabilities provides strong evidence of our growing abilities as an independent logistics provider.

The conract will see Britannia Oil and Britannia Logistics working hand in hand to source and supply a wide range of materials for their operations in Scandinavia, Tunisia and Congo.

Close, ongoing liason with PA Resources’ purchasing team will keep us in the picture with regard to their logistics requirements, ensuring our service is truly client focused.

This apprach will allow us to plan ahead, meaning we always use the most cost-effective shipment methods and, crucially, are able to provide substantial revenue benefits by way of shipment consolidation (made all the easier by our state of the art London warehousing/packing facility).

BLS Awarded IATA ‘Cargo Agent’ Status

Britannia Logistics will now be passing on the multifarious benefits of IATA Cargo Agency to its clients.

IATA’s Cargo Agency Program helps to regulate member airlines’ working relationships with their appointed sales agents.

Approval was granted after a thorough financial & operational vetting procedure.

This development will dramatically increase the air-freight options available to us, with many airlines refusing to deal with agents not carrying IATA Cargo Agent Status.

Affording benefits to both airlines and agents, the Cargo Agent program provides agents with industry recognition of their financial and professional competence and airlines with a worldwide distribution network of approved agents to sell their product.

IATA Cargo Agency is the hallmark of quality for the freight forwarding industry, signalling freight fowarding services of the highest order.

Packing Methods Approved by Timcon

Our packing methods have this week been approved under Timcon’s Wood Packaging Material Marking Programme.

This certification attests that all of our pallets, crates, boxes, cable drums, or similar are sourced in such a way that promotes phytosanitation (plant health).

Having passed the initial audit with flying colours, we will now undergo six-monthly reviews to ensure that we maintain our ethically sound approach to the sourcing of packaging material.
